Thank you

Dear Spirit Coverage family,

Over the past few years, we’ve been bringing you coverage of the Spirit in various forms. My main role has been the written platform and that is something that I have taken great pride in. But over these past few months I have not been at my best and for that I apologize. I have truly just been worn out and have not had the drive.

Since I took my first journalism class in ninth grade, I knew that this was something that I wanted to do. For most of high school I covered two to three sports a year and was going all the time because I was involved in my school’s newspaper and playing sports myself. But because this was something that I wanted to do and loved so much, I kept at it and pursued all the opportunities that I could. In the spring of my senior year of high school, I reached out to Tim Lawson who was starting up a site called SpiritCoverage.com. I wanted to get more experience and I was already going to the games so I figured it would be a perfect fit.

Three years later, it has been a dream come true. I’ve gone to three straight NWSL Championship games and two NWSL College Drafts. While I have also spent time at multiple other organizations, I’ve always stuck with this site because I believe in what we are doing and I love the group that we have.

To Kelley and Tim, thank you for all that you do for the site and keeping up with me. I really appreciate every time I get to chat with both of you. You guys make this fun.

To all of you that follow me or the site, thank you for sticking with us through it all. You guys are what keep us doing what we do and you all are the best.

With that being said, I have an announcement for you all. I will be leaving Spirit Coverage, at least till the end of the year, to pursue an internship opportunity with the Washington Spirit organization. I will still be around the Plex, just in a different role now.

Thank you for everything,

Jordan
