Last season: In 2016, Alyssa Kleiner played in 17 games, starting in 12 of those matches. Kleiner spent a majority of the season on the backline at left back but came in late to a few games at forward to hold onto a lead. She scored one goal in 2016 on July 31 against Sky Blue. Kleiner played in the NWSL Championship game after Caprice Dydasco tore her ACL early in the first half.

2017 season: Because of the injury to Dydasco, Kleiner will be one of the top candidates to fill in at the left back. Kleiner and Dydasco fought for the position throughout the first half of the 2016 season. With the timetable for Dydasco’s return still unknown, it is likely that Kleiner starts at left back alongside Shelina Zadorsky.
